Why, hello there, India!

Just a quick note to let everyone know that after a little bit of drama at Sharjah airport in Dubai (namely that the flight left 3 1/2 hours after it was supposed to), I've arrived safely in Mumbai. My host, Toto, initially gave me instructions on how to take a pre-paid taxi from the airport to his house, but later convinced me that I should just allow him to pick me up instead. That turned out to be a good move because even at 2:15am the airport was absolute chaos.

So, I made it! I'm going to try to work out an itinerary for India in the next day or so. Since Christmas and New Year's are upon us, trains will start to be booked quickly (if they're not already which would mean taking buses instead) so I'd like to have more of a plan than I've had so far. I'll write more later, but for now - time for brunch!

  1. Yay, a safe arrival. Although now you may officially be halfway (or more!) around the world.

It's about time you moved on, though. My SHANNON TRACKER map had become sort of static.

    Love,
    K.

  3. Do you have the spot back and is it operational yet? Have fun, but be careful as always. Glad that you arrived safely. Love, Grandma

  4. ToadMama - You could add an extra pin on the Shannon Tracker if you wanted. I didn't blog about it, only mentioned the place name on Flickr pics, but I also went to Ras Al-Khaimah on 2 Dec. :-)

Mom - Still no plans yet, but hopefully by tomorrow. I'll keep everyone posted.

Grandma - No, unfortunately, no SPOT. Dad mailed it to me while I was in Dubai, but it didn't arrive before I left. Amy mailed me something 3 weeks in advance and that never arrived either, so who knows how long it will take for the SPOT to be back in my hands. :-(
